Business Valuation

A professional receiving an accreditation by the American Society of Appraisers as an Accredited Senior Appraiser (“ASA”) is recognized as having achieved the highest level of education, training, and report writing for business valuations. ASA Business Valuation (BV) Appraisers provide independent, unbiased opinions of value for business enterprises large, small and all sizes in between. Along with valuing the enterprise value, ASA BV Appraisers value intangible business assets such as copyrights, employment agreements, trademarks, securities and goodwill. ASABV Appraisers also assist with mergers and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plan analyses and other financial studies and reporting. ASA BV Appraisers also prepare appraisals for estate and gift tax returns, buy-sell agreements, securities litigation, marital dissolution and other matters where a value of stock, equity interests and intangible assets are required

The American Society of Appraisers and member appraisers of the Boston Chapter are recognized to demonstrate the highest standards in education, training, and certification for business valuation. ASA appraisers of the Boston Chapter are dedicated to supporting clients to meet their valuation requirements. ASA Appraisers of the Boston Chapter provide mentoring, share technical issues, and participate in continuing education to stay on the leading edge of changes in valuation processes and methods.  ASA appraisers continue to be recognized as the leaders in our profession

The Internal Revenue Service states that an appraisal will be treated “as a qualified appraisal” within its regulations by meeting three qualifications:

1) the appraiser should be qualified by a recognized association (such as the American Society of Appraisers);

2) the appraiser must have the education and experience in valuing the type of property being appraised; and

3) a qualifying  appraisal is developed in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (“USPAP”) as promulgated by the Appraisal Standards Board of the Appraisal Foundation.

ASA prepared valuation reports require certification and adherence to these qualifications and standards.  Business Valuations are pertinent not only when delivered, but also serve as a reference point. BV reports must be thorough and complete. When your business interest needs an appraisal, turn to the experts.

“Your property demands a professional appraiser of the highest caliber. When you need valuation work, turn to your trusted source: an ASA accredited appraiser.”
